Based on the need for tactile feedback when interacting with the body (for example while playing with a kinect). It enable users to feel free air sensation in the physical space, therefore enhancing the experience of todays devices. It is done mostly with 3D printed parts, for example a flexible nozzle that went through various changes in the developing process.
What is interesting for us in this project is the fact that they make air tactile, controllable, and sometimes even visible for explanation purposes.
How does it basically work? Air moves through the device and when enough air accumulates at the tip of the nozzle it creates a vortex ring, which then results in a change of air pressure in the users hands or body.
